The beach, the sun, the salty air
In my car, driving anywhere
No cares, no worries
No one in my way
Happiness is today.
Friends and food, anything goes
Partying 'til dawn with my bros
It's anything I want,
Everything I need
Happiness is the life I lead.

What will happen?
I think Winston and Julia will meet O'Brien in jail, as all of them will be captured. The three of them will be brutally tortured by the Thought Police until they drop the names of other members in the party. Once they all fail to cooperate, they will be executed and all traces of them all ever existing will be destroyed.

genetic engineering
Webster’s Dictionary says genetic engineering is the development and application of scientific methods, procedures, and technologies that permit direct manipulation of genetic material in order to alter the hereditary traits of a cell, organism, or population. I believe genetic engineering is the act of playing God. I believe that genetic engineering is good, but where do we draw the line? I think that genetic engineering should be used for making sure the child does not have any diseases, or mental disabilities. I think that people should not be able to choose eye and hair color, or sex. I believe genetic engineering is okay at some points, but there is a line to be drawn between what is right and wrong.
Genetic engineering is alright as long as people do not take it too far. Many genetic disorders such as Down syndrome and Autism can be cured from genetic engineering. Genetic engineering can allow genetic disorders to nearly disappear off of the face of the Earth, although there is no guarantee all of the disorders would be wiped out, because there are no guarantees in life. Genetic engineering allows the world to become a healthier place, and allows people to have somewhat equally healthy lives.
With good things, there are always bad things. Genetic engineering is like playing God, however. Parents should not be allowed to choose physical traits of their child such as hair and eye color. If a parent chooses to have their child be very smart, or a star athlete, they are playing the role of God, the child’s physical traits should be chosen at random, not by the parents.
Genetic engineering can be both good and bad; it is all about how it is used. Genetic engineering is a great thing, as long as it is used for the right things, not playing God, or anything like that. As long as genetic engineering is used for good, it is a great technology that can be used to make the world a better place.

This I Believe........
I believe everyone deserves a second chance. Many life changing things have happened to people, and some never recover from this thing. We moved into our new house during my 8th grade year, and stayed at my grandpa’s house, while he was alive, during 7th grade, so I would guess that it was about the summer before 6th grade, and school had just let out for summer. Our pool was open and the weather was nice outside. My friend, Chase, and I went cruising around on my family’s quad in our back woods, which had awesome quad and dirt bike trails. Anyway, we went “off-roading” in a sense because we had left the trails. Behind the trails, in the backwoods, there is a somewhat shallow stream which was about a foot or two deep. Chase and I decided we wanted to cross the stream and go riding by Wantage Avenue. The banks of the stream were somewhat steep, and some had lips on them that your tires would get caught on, and you would flip. I decided to give it a try and tried riding up one of the banks which had a lip. It was a very bad move. We had made it all the way to the top of the bank, and then terror struck both of us. The quad flipped up at a 90 degree angle, and somehow did not land on us. Both, Chase and I, fell off, him first because he was riding on the back of the quad, then I landed on him, which softened my fall. If the quad had flipped all of the way back, neither Chase nor I would be alive today. We would have been crushed by a very heavy vehicle, and we were young and would not have been able to get it off of us. We were lucky that it didn’t tip all of the way back. It seems as if we were given a second chance to live. That is why I feel that everyone deserves a second chance.

How a TV works
A television has many different components which make it work. There are many characters which are running around inside, waiting for the right opportunity to pop out and get you. The only way for them to come out of the television and get you, is if the screen of the television breaks. There are many ways to avoid this catastrophe. First, if you are absolutely going to break your television screen, do not have it on, or plugged in. If the television is on, there will be a huge explosion with a big flash of light, and all of the characters from the show, or commercial, will come out of the television and mutilate you, no matter how harmless they seem. The characters are as small as they appear on the television screen, so if you have a 64” television and the screen breaks, good luck, you will definitely need it. All of the characters seem to be small and harmless, and you think you have nothing to fear, but you are wrong. The characters are so powerful they could take out a hippopotamus in a single blow. The more harmless a character seems, the more dangerous it is. Teletubbies and Barney are the meanest and toughest characters of them all. For all of the horror movie fanatics, you are in luck. All of the characters which seem scary aren’t. Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger are harmless. They are more afraid of you than you are of them, similar to sharks, however, they will attack you if they feel threatened so watch out. That is how a television works; now you know how to survive, in case your screen does break.
